Disopyramide
Drug Name : Disopyramide
Indications : Disopyramide is an antiarrhythmic agent which is used in the treatment of arthritis.
Physiology :  Metabolite N-desisopropyl disopyramide is also pharmacologically active. Concomitant treatment with phenytoin may lead to decreased serum levels of disopyramide.
Normal Values : 2.5 µg/mL (5.9-14.7 µmol/L)
Critical Values : >7 µg/Ml (>20.6 mmol/L)
Test Method : Enzyme Immunoassay, High Performance liquid chromotography
Side effects : Toxic effects are depression of myocardial contractility and disturbances in myocardial conduction. Dry mouth, constipation, urinary hesitancy, blurred vision.
