Theophylline
Drug Name : Theophylline
Indications : Theophylline is an antiasthmatic drug which should be monitored
Physiology :  Theophylline is given for bronchial asthma, for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and for new born apnea.
Normal Values : 10-20 µg/mL (56-111 µmol/L)
Critical Values : > 20 µg/mL (> 111 µmol/L)
Test Method : Enzyme immunoassay, HPLC, GC.
Side effects : Heart failure, liver disease, prolonged fever, infections, and obesity, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, tremors and convulsions.
